Brian Park
I wanted to continue showing the beautiful photography of Brian Park after my post on Restoring a House in the City here. So here are some more mouthwatering images from his website, taken for the book.

pomegranate vase
Here's my first attempt at making a clay pomegranate vase, as I saw in Istanbul. It doesn't really resemble the lovely creations I saw there (it doesn't really resemble a pomegranate either for that matter!) - but to be fair to myself, I didn't even look at them - just made it up out of my head. Perhaps next time I should have a photo of the originals next to me as I create!

lovely rooms
These rooms from the July issue of Living etc inspire me.
Yesterday we drove to Nottingham to pick up new furniture for our home, from India - photos to come soon, including shots of my new kilim from Istanbul!

Istanbul
interior of Hagia Sophia
I arrived home last night after a wonderful week in Istanbul with Mum. My cousin (from Australia) who has been living and working there for 2 years got married to an American who teaches in Istanbul, so we went for the wedding. Had a relaxing and interesting time! Mostly took photos of shops as well as some sights we saw, mainly mosques. I'll do my best to label the photos. It's a truly beautiful city with a fascinating history.above 2 images Hagia Sophia
